Scottsdale, Ariz., September 28, 2022 – Eric Amodio, CTO of GitKraken and creator of GitLens for VS Code, has been announced as a finalist in Boston’s Best Tech Manager category for the 2022 Timmy Awards. Now in its 8th year, the Timmy Awards, presented by Motion Recruitment’s community platform, Tech in Motion, recognizes the top workplaces and people across North America. Managers like Eric have been honored for their leadership, innovation and positive influence. Celebrating technology leaders and visionaries who go beyond the requisite duties of a manager, Eric and his fellow nominees promote career growth, ensure a great team culture, and lead their teams through the unexpected, all while ensuring the highest quality products and services.
“Managers and tech leaders have to work harder than ever to bring their teams together in an ever-changing world and empower them to be their very best selves,” said Lindsay Lewis, director of marketing at Tech in Motion’s Motion Recruitment. “The Timmy finalists for Best Tech Manager truly value their teams and tirelessly work to help strengthen and motivate them in their professional development.”
“After we acquired GitLens and brought Eric over from Microsoft, he made an immediate and positive impact on our company’s culture and development operations,” says GitKraken CEO Matt Johnston. “To watch him grow from an open source project maintainer to entrepreneur and now to tech executive has been extremely rewarding, and I appreciate Tech in Motion for acknowledging Eric’s hard work and leadership.”
In a short period of time, Eric has transformed the VS Code extension he created, GitLens, into a tool with over 16 million installations worldwide. GitLens has grown to offer a wide array of features and visualizations to unlock the untapped knowledge within a repository to help users better understand their code; and with better understanding comes greater productivity and improved outcomes.
“Providing quality management and support to my team is something I strive for every day,” says honoree Eric Amodio. “It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve a collaborative culture, so it feels really nice to be recognized.”
You can vote for Best Tech Manager and other Timmy Awards categories, like Best Tech Startup, through October 5th. All regional award winners will be announced in October and will go on to compete in the national categories. The 2022 Timmy Awards ceremony will be held on November 10th and will once again be a completely digital experience.
